Connectional Superintendent Buds Of Promise

Mrs. April Cousart Davis is a Zionite from birth who resides in Charlotte, North Carolina and is blessed to be a member of the Steele Creek A.M.E. Zion Church residing in the Piedmont Episcopal District. She is the third of seven children of Mrs. Helen E. Cousart and the Late Rev. Roscoe Cousart. April’s parents were faithful servants of Zion who taught her to be a faithful servant leader. She loves children and desires to allow God to use her for His Glory and to be a blessing in every opportunity afforded. After matriculating at UNC-Charlotte and obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, April immediately returned to her home church, Steele Creek A.M.E. Zion Church, to work as a Children’s Sunday School Teacher. Her gifts were discovered, and her service roles expanded to Children’s Bible Study Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher/Assistant Director, Conference Worker, and Local Superintendent of the Buds of Promise. April currently holds the positions of Children’s Class Leader, Deaconess Board (Vice-President), Steward and Financial Secretary locally. On the Charlotte District, April serves as the District Superintendent of the Buds of Promise and Graphical Editor of the Charlotte District Women’s Home and Overseas Monthly Newsletter. Within her community, April is an avid volunteer for outreach organizations that impact the lives of children. She served as a Girl Scout Leader for seven years and a Girl Scout Volunteer for many years. April has been married to Steven T. Davis for 31 years, and from their love, two children—Steven Trey and Amber—all reside in Charlotte, NC. She has been employed by Bank of America for over 20 years and is a Vice President, Application Product Owner. Her favorite scripture is “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13. On July 2023, in New Orleans, Louisiana, April was elected the 14th Connectional Superintendent of the Buds of Promise of the Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
