Connectional Director Of Communications

Camryn Ivey was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was raised in the small town of Weddington, North Carolina, to the parents of Ronald and Kimberly Ivey. She has one 23-year-old sister, Kyndal Ivey. Camryn is the sixth generation Zionite of Marvin A.M.E. Zion Church in Waxhaw, NC, where the pastor is Reverend Dr. Haven O. Anderson in the Piedmont Episcopal District. Over her life, Camryn has been involved in auxiliaries and organizations such as the Children’s Choir and Praise Team, Step and Dance Team, Usher Board, Junior Steward, the Media Team, and Christian Education and Missionary. Outside of church, Camryn attended Winston-Salem State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in May of 2019. During her matriculation, she was also involved in community and academic organizations, such as Student Government Association and Association of Information Technology Professionals. Currently, in her professional career, Camryn works as a technical consultant for a consulting firm in addition to curating websites for black-owned E-Commerce businesses. Her hopes and prayers for Zion are to bring the Freedom Church into an advanced technology era that will still reach the oldest members of our church as well as the new generation to come. She lives by the scripture, Psalms 46:5, “God is within her; she will not fail.”
