SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS


The Star of Zion desires to provide all readers with news that is current, articles that are useful, and sources that are credible. This can only be achieved by having a team of writers regularly submitting articles that are clear, concise, and thought provoking. As the Communications link to the A.M.E. Zion Church the Star has the honored task of providing the A.M.E. Zion Church globally with information pertinent to both internal and external affairs.


The subject matter of the content may include but is not limited to, latest news from around Zion, government policy (domestic and international), entertainment, sports, education, public health, and ecumenical news. The nature of the content should appropriately reflect the Star’s mission statement and be aligned with the core values of Faith, Truth, and Love.


When submitting materials for consideration please observe the following guidelines:
– All articles and photos must be sent via EMAIL ONLY at news@starofzion.org Articles must be sent in Microsoft Word Format.
– Please DO NOT exceed 500 words.
– Font 12pt Times New Roman
– All photos must be sent in .JPG format and labeled with description accordingly.
– DO NOT embed photos in articles. Article and photos must be separate attachments. When
sending photos, DO NOT embed/place them into Word files and send the Word document but instead attach original photos in .JPG format to the email.
– The deadline for publishing in any issue is the 15th day for the preceding month. (for example, the deadline for the November issue October 15)
– Please have mortuary email photo and obituary of the deceased when submitted obituaries.
