Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As you are aware, our brothers and sisters in Jamaica have experienced severe hardship and devastation as a result of the recent natural disaster from Hurricane Melissa that struck the island on October 28, 2025. Many have lost homes, possessions, and access to basic necessities. In times like these, The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church has always demonstrated compassion, generosity, and unity by standing together to uplift those in need.
We have spoken with many of the leaders of the Cornwall, Middlesex, and Surrey Conferences who have reported that they are safe. While some have experienced damage to personal property and others have not, all are thankful for God’s protection. They are in the process of checking on their parishioners, as well as the communities, and will provide us with additional information
as it becomes available. Many have shared they are currently without power and have limited access to other essential amenities. However, their spirits remain strong, and they continue to praise the Lord for keeping them and their families safe.
In response to this crisis, we are asking members, congregations, and friends of Zion throughout our denomination to join in providing monetary relief for Jamaica. Your contributions will help provide vital assistance and express the love of Christ through tangible support.
Donations may be sent to:

Thank you in advance for your faithful generosity and unwavering commitment to service.
By His grace and for His glory,
Bishop Darryl B. Starnes, Sr.
