Zion Benefits Services, Inc. is a department of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church that administers benefit programs for its pastors, widows and widowers. Additionally, the department is responsible for the establishment and ongoing oversight of the denomination’s Risk Management program and procurement of Property & Casualty insurance coverage for local churches and affiliates.

The General Conference of The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church directs that there shall be established the department of Zion Benefits Services, Inc., in order to:

• Provide retirement benefits and self-managed retirement plans for the Pastors of The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
• Provide death benefits for the Pastors of The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
• Provide relief for living spouses of deceased Pastors of The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
• Provide Risk Management and Commercial Insurance procurement services that protect the churches of The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, its affiliated schools and institutions, against property and casualty losses.
