Mrs. Jo-Ann O. Monroe is a native New Yorker and a dedicated member of Greater Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church in Mount Vernon, NY. Her local church commitments are Parent Body President, Home Missions President, a member of Life Members Council, Board of Christian Education, Lay Council and Director of Girl Scouts. On the district, Jo-Ann previously served as the Balm in Gilead Representative, recording secretary and currently provides leadership as the Westchester District Director of Mission Education. She is also a member of the New York Conference Mission Education, Global Mission, and Overseas Mission Committees.

Jo-Ann is employed by Greater Centennial Housing Development Corporation as their Housing Manager.

Truly active in her community, Jo-Ann has been a Girl Scout Leader for over 20 years and has served for the past 14 years as the Mount Vernon Community Service Unit Manager. In this role, she is accountable for providing oversight for the entire Community of girls and adults.

She and her husband Maurice are the parents of two sons, Stephen and Elijah.

In July 2019, in Orlando, Florida she was elected Connectional Secretary, for the Bureau of Supply of the Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
